Mission

DARCLE Asia is the new regional chapter of the global DARCLE network. We aim to create a safe, time-zone-friendly space where Asian perspectives on child-development data collection, analysis, and ethics can thrive alongside the wider DARCLE community. Geographically, the group is particularly focused on East Asia and Oceania due to similarity in time zones enablings us to meet easily, but other regions from Asia are welcomed to join us.
With regards to research interest, we are particularly focused on the use of long-format recordings in collecting naturalisting speech data from infants' and children's everyday environment.
This group was established with the aim to share knowledge, experiences, issues, and solutions, and to create a supportive environment for everyone planning or already using long-format audio recordings.
If you are an Asia-based researcher using or planning to use day-long recordings and have ever wished for a supportive regional community to discuss challenges, share solutions, and collaborate with colleagues who share similar research contexts, please, consider joining our group.
